COVID-19
Level 2 at Eastwest
It is with great excitement that we announce our re opening on Saturday the 16th of May. Your health, safety, and comfort is our top priority, and we will be doing everything we can to ensure this.
"Lets Play it Safe"
We are holding these words from Jacinda Ardern at the front of our minds as we make our plan for opening the studio again. We ask for your support and understanding as we make these adjustments, bearing in mind that things may look quite different for a while...
Class Numbers: We have mapped out the room with set mat placements that maintain specified social distancing between every mat. With these new restrictions we will have a new class maximum of less than half our usual size. This means that to ensure you get a space in the room, please pre book your class before arriving. If you book for a class please be sure you can make it! If something comes up and you can no longer attend please cancel your place at least 3 hours before the class, so you don't take a valuable place in the room that someone else may want.
Schedule: We will be aiming to keep our schedule as close to the old schedule as possible, however we will not be doing back to back classes to ensure the ability to maintain social distancing throughout the studio.
Rentals & Props: As we open at level 2 we will no longer be doing mat or towel rentals. We know this may mean extra effort for some of you and we apologise for that. If you do not have a mat, we have them at the studio for sale, you can also find cheaper options at Kmart or The Warehouse (once they are open). At this stage we will also take away the use of studio props. If you have injury or tightness, or simply prefer to use props, please feel free to bring your own cushion, block, bolster and/or strap to the studio, ensuring that you take them home with you afterwards.
Bathroom Use: As we will need to limit bathroom use to 2 at a time in the women's (maintaining social distance of course), and 1 person at a time in the mens, there will be no showers available to use, to reduce the load on the bathrooms. Once again we know this may not be ideal for many of you and we apologise for this.
Cleaning: We will be cleaning the studio, bathrooms and any main surfaces between every class, and we will be wiping down the eftpos machine between every purchase. In the past we have used organic cleaning products, however for this time we will be using antibacterial products.
We also ask that you clean your own mats at home instead of at the studio.
Contact Tracing: Luckily for us we have a booking system that makes this quite easy. Please sign in online and see that you're details are up to date. If you are unable to sign in to your online account OR don't have one set up, please email us at info@eastwest.co.nz
Other points: Obviously we ask that you maintain the usual actions that we are all asked to do at this time. Social distancing, staying home if your not feeling well, washing your hands regularly and being kind :)
We will be doing our best to ensure that those of you who want to can keep practicing through this time. We know limited class numbers may mean you aren't always able to get a spot in your class of preference. EASTWEST ONLINE will be continuing as we move forward with new classes added weekly, so even if you can't get into a class at our physical studio, theres always an option for us to practice together! If you havent signed up for Eastwest Online there is no contract, and theres different pricing options from $5-$35.
This time has reminded us more than ever what a gift the practice of Yoga is, and how amazing this Eastwest Community is. We have loved sharing practice with you online (even though it took some adjusting!), however the thought of sharing practice together - moving together, breathing together, fills us with so much excitement!
Thank you for your continued support, it means so much to us. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns as we enter this new phase.
We hope your well, and we look forward to (hopefully) seeing you soon!
Love,
The Eastwest Team
