How long have you been practicing yoga?

Maybe 15 to 20 years and the hot yoga for about 5 years.

What led you to practice?

I like mindful movement..and my boyfriend (who was ideally meant to become my
husband) was into yoga. As for hot yoga; I was always putting off trying it because
of the heat and my fear of flaking out in it. Eventually the magic number of people
suggesting I try it was hit.

And what kept you coming back?

I felt so good at the end of class. It was like my day got reset, I felt re-enlivened.
The hot room can be a challenging and uncomfortable environment - mirrors, lights,
heat, humidity, sweat - your own, others. For me it became a good place to grow
stronger in body and mind.

What drew you to teaching?

My reasons for going into teaching are pretty selfish. I wanted to overcome a fear
of public speaking and I thought 9 weeks of immersing myself within a yoga
practice I loved within a tropically set resort sounded like a good idea and place to
do that....it turned out to be quite the experience !
I'm a nurse and I generally look after others whose circumstance rather than
choice dictate my care and presence in their life. One of the many things I love
about teaching yoga is that I get to provide an opportunity for people who make the
choice for themselves to come and practice to improve the health of their mind and
body.

What can we expect when taking your classes.

Well, its hot yoga, so you can expect the same sequence every time delivered to
you in a clear and calm manner that encourages you to breathe whilst finding your
edge and leaning into it.

What activities do you like to engage in outside of the yoga room?

I love being outdoors soaking up nature... and I'm working at liking flying
